That aside, heck yeah they'd sue her (or, the label i should say) if they went ahead and just used the songs. These songs do not belong to Island Def Jam or Utada. Square-Enix hired Utada to write two songs for THEM (although EMI Music may own rights to the songs...maybe?). She's taking Simple and Clean and Sanctuary and using them to make MORE money. That extra money they get should go to the owner of the songs, which would be Square-Enix. In order to use the songs on the CD they need to get "permission" (i.e. pay Square-Enix enough) where they'll agree to let the songs be on there. Also, every time a song is played on the radio, the radio station must pay the owners of the songs whatever the prices of the royalties are.

Well who brought in the English Major?

It'd be cool if the bonus tracks were put on the cd, but so many complications... Even though the JP version has bonus tracks...
